Izzi presenting her Kanban case study-600

Kick your Kanban up a gear

Before coming to Boost, Izzi was squad master in a Kanban team. She got some advice that really helped her team, so she put together a presentation sharing what she learnt. Here’s how Lean helped them take Kanban to the next level.

Izzi's already had some wonderful feedback on the presso.

110% Awesome

My job is to develop unique approaches to embed and encourage meaningful and sustainable delivery practices. As a result, a lot of the toolsets I use come from Lean and Kanban.

Izzi's explanation of the Lean/Kanban relationship is clean, crisp, and inspires curiosity and excitement from the viewer…Izzi seems to have a real gift and passion for delivery. I hope she continues to inspire others.

All the best
Joe Auslander

In the presentation, Izzi shows:

  • how Kanban and Lean fit together and where they differ
  • how going back to Lean first principles transformed her team’s practice
  • the insights this approach triggered
  • the benefits her team gained
  • practical tips for getting these benefits.

An Agile coach helping out a team member.

Want to be a Team whisperer?

While we design and develop software at Boost, some of our most crucial roles do neither of these things. Not directly anyway. Instead they support the teams who do. We call these people Agile coaches (or Scrum Masters or Team coordinators).

Since we're currently hiring Agile coaches, we’ve put together a short description of the role, and the kind of person who’ll get a kick out of it.

It’s a really interesting job, and not one many people understand. One of the things we’ve learned is that experience doesn’t matter, but attitude does. You can learn how to help people work in an Agile way, but a knack for energising, understanding and guiding teams is more of an innate trait. It’s like you're a horse whisperer, but for teams. Maybe we should call the role Team whisperer?

We’re also looking for Code whisperers

We’ve got more work than we can handle so we’re also hiring software developers/engineers.

If you love collaborating with clients and colleagues and crafting elegant code to solve complex problems, we’d love to hear from you.
