Making it super easy for seniors

The new SuperGold website and mobile app went live earlier in the month, making it super easy for seniors to get deals and discounts, and stretch their money further.

It was an exciting time, with plenty of demand and lots of media interest. In fact, the app reached No. 1 in New Zealand on both the App Store and Google Play.

Anyone who gets NZ Superannuation or a Veteran's pension gets a SuperGold Card. The card gives them discounts, deals and free off-peak public transport. It’s a way that government and businesses can thank seniors for their contribution to the country.

The Ministry of Social Development’s goal was to make it easy for seniors to access the deals no matter where they are or what device they use. Cardholders can find deals nearby, check out special offers, search for the kind of deal they’re after or browse through all the offers available.

Check it out and share it with the seniors in your life. They deserve it.

Check your cyber security

New Zealand Cyber Smart Week may have just finished, but it’s never too late to check that you’re cyber secure.

This quiz from the NZ government cyber security agency CERT NZ takes about 5 minutes and lets you check you’ve got the basics covered. Once you’re done, you’ll get an email noting your strengths and weaknesses and some simple tips to improve your online safety.
