Happy holidays!

Festive felicitations from everyone at Boost. We hope you’ve had a wonderful year.

Here at Boost we finish up on Friday 21 December and we’ll be back on Monday 7 January. The next Boost News will be winging your way on Tuesday 15 January.

We’d also like to wish you a Merry Listmas. Here’s TimeOut’s guide to the 50 best Christmas movies, ClassicFM’s 30 best Christmas carols and, based on YouTube searches, New Zealand’s top 10 Christmas songs this year. Coming soon to a mall near you.

And, because Christmas is about sharing the fun, here’s a guide to the kind of goodies that help charities spread the festive cheer.

Powering up Product Owners

It looks like our new Product Owner guide is hitting the mark. We had over 100 downloads in the first day, along with lots of lovely feedback.

"A great resource ... extremely thorough!"
Jess Limbrick, Product Owner, Life Education

"Very practical and easy to read."
Christian Evans, Senior Scrum Master, Canadian resource ministries

"This is awesome."
Matt Allen, Product Owner, CreativeNZ

The feedback has been especially nice to hear because it means we’ve created what we set out to — a practical, readable, one-stop guide to being a Product Owner in Scrum, one that helps Product Owners really deliver for their organisation.

Make your work more rewarding and less risky

Limiting work in progress helps you manage project risk and deliver quality work on time. Importantly, it also makes the work more rewarding. In the latest in his blog series on managing risk with Agile, Boost’s skipper Nathan Donaldson shows you how to limit WIP and create a happy crew.

You’ll get an evaluation checklist so you can assess how well you currently manage your work in progress. You’ll learn how to visualise WIP, and limit it within projects and across your business. And you’ll find out how to avoid the time suck that comes from context shifting.
