The Whys and Hows of cloud migration

If you haven’t run a website or application in the cloud before, the idea of doing so can be overwhelming. So many options, so much to learn.

That’s certainly what James Robertson found while moving DigitalNZ to the cloud. It was also an exciting opportunity, and one that has really borne fruit. Reliability, security and cost transparency have increased. It’s much easier to scale up or down as demand or new services require. And they’ve freed up maintenance time so they can work on new ways to make Kiwi content easy to find, share and use online.

To help other people move to the cloud, James took time out to share what they learned at DigitalNZ. The result is a case study covering things like:

  • why they moved to the cloud
  • which cloud they went for, and why
  • the process they followed
  • the benefits they’ve gained, and how they got them
  • the lessons they learned along the way.

February Agile course sold out, book April now

Apologies to those of you who have missed out on the first Agile Professional Foundation for the New Year. The next available course runs on:

20 to 21 April

We put the course’s popularity down to two main things. It’s fun and it works.

The interactive workshop approach is engaging and inspiring. Getting a solid grounding in the values and principles of Agile helps you develop an Agile mindset. You learn how to be Agile not just do Agile. And practical exercises using real Agile tools show you how to put your Agile skills into action the moment you get back to work.
