Are you our next Studio coordinator?

We’re looking for someone to keep everything humming in our Wellington studio and for our people in Whanganui, Manila and France. You’ll work closely with the team, our suppliers and our clients.

Who are we looking for?

We’re after someone who:

  • loves helping others be the best they can
  • is good at spotting what the team needs
  • has the initiative and organisation to make it happen
  • makes everyone feel welcome
  • energises people and brings them together
  • is always looking to do better.

No experience necessary

This is one of those jobs where what matters most is the kind of person you are, not the type of work you’ve done.

Why you’ll be happy at Boost

Because we’re people like you! We love working together and supporting each other. We share the same values and the same purpose: helping others create a positive and lasting impact.

TinyPulse Happiest Award badgeBecause we work well together, we do really good work. We’re proud of what we do and we enjoy doing it. That’s why we're rated one of the happiest workplaces in the world.

Don’t take our word for it

Applying for a job at Boost isn’t the usual send-your-CV-and-do-an-interview thing. Instead you get to take us for a test-drive. First you join us for a hiring evening. You’ll meet the team and collaborate with other candidates on activities that show how Boost works. If that goes well, you’ll join us for a working interview. That way you get to learn more about Boost and we get to see you in action.

Government agencies get a new cloud deal

The government has signed a deal with New Zealand-based cloud provider Catalyst Cloud. The new agreement gives state agencies discounts and standardised terms.

Here are the details of the Catalyst Cloud deal.

Cloud migration case study

If your agency is thinking of moving infrastructure to the cloud, you might be interested in what DigitalNZ learned from their migration.

Moving to the cloud increased the flexibility, security and reliability of their applications, and made it easier to manage costs. The case study looks at how they achieved this: how they kicked off the process, which cloud provider they went for and how they managed the migration.

Agile training: Try before you buy

One of the benefits of our Agile training is that you can try it out to see if it’s right for you.

The Agile Professional Foundation is our flagship training. A certification course like this requires an investment in time (four 3-hour sessions) and money (NZ$1700 excl GST).

You can test whether learning about Agile, and our approach to teaching Agile, will make this investment worthwhile, by trying out our free Introduction to Agile first.

Free Introduction to Agile

The Intro is a free 2-hour guide to the background and basics of Agile. It runs on Friday afternoons via Zoom.

Discount on the Agile Professional Foundation

If you’ve done the Intro, you get a 15% discount on the APF. (If you’ve already done the Intro and you’ve lost your discount code, get in touch and we’ll sort you out.)

The APF gives you a comprehensive grounding in the principles and methodologies of Agile. Run via Zoom over four consecutive mornings, it uses entertaining activities to show how Agile works in practice. You’ll discover how you can make your work clearer, less stressful and more productive.

The course often gets booked out, so it’s worth securing your seat early.

A big welcome to Boost’s two new developers

Our last Test-drive hiring event was a huge success, adding two experienced developers to the Boost crew.

Isabel Anastasiadis

Isabel Anastasiadis

Izzi switched careers when she saw the difference her company’s in-house developer could make to people’s lives.

It was quite a leap. But after returning to uni to do a CompSci degree, and landing a job at TradeMe, she realised she’d found her calling.

She was attracted to Boost by our shared drive to make the world a better place and by our appetite for innovation. “People really seem to care about doing things well,” she says.

Away from work, the old-world pleasures are making a comeback. Izzi’s baking lots of bread and she and her husband are currently reading the Wheel of Time books to each other.

Emmanuelle Abendan

We’re excited to have a new developer joining our team in Manila. Eman came onboard after hearing how much his friend Shan enjoyed working at Boost.

He’s already enjoying the supportive environment. “Everyone’s so nice,” he says, “I feel very welcome.”

After completing his IT degree, Eman moved into development as the obvious outlet for his knack for solving problems.

It’s a knack he puts to use outside work too. DIY projects he’s tackled include replastering the house and turning his daughter’s crib into a computer desk. She doesn’t really need it anymore, since she’s at high school now.

Our next Agile Professional Foundation runs on 2–5 May
