8 prioritisation tools for producing max value

A while back we asked our readers what topic they’d like us to write about. Prioritisation was the number one choice so we put together a prioritisation toolkit. It shows how you can use eight different tools to ensure you tackle the work that’ll give you the biggest bang for your buck.

The tools include:

  1. Prioritisation by personas
  2. MoSCoW prioritisation
  3. Priority poker
  4. Buy a feature
  5. Priority quadrants
  6. Risk quadrant prioritisation
  7. Weighted shortest job first
  8. Impact mapping

Boost Agile Lead Rebecca Jones hosting the Virtual Agile Professional Foundation.

New virtual Agile Professional Foundation course now available

In response to popular demand, you can now do the APF as an interactive virtual workshop.

The training runs over 4 mornings, Monday to Thursday from 9am–12 noon (NZ Standard Time).

“We’ve been working hard to make the course super-engaging,” says Rebecca Jones, Boost’s Agile Lead.

We’ve redesigned the workshop to take advantage of the online format, tailoring the activities to remote learning. The result is an ICAgile-certified course that gives you a comprehensive introduction to Agile principles and practices from the comfort of your computer, setting you up to consistently get more done in your day-to-day work.

Available dates

Mon 10 August – Thu 13 August

Employee ownership at Boost

A key part of our Boost 2026 roadmap is the move to full employee ownership.

While Employee Share Ownership Plans are quite common, full staff ownership is much more rare, so Idealog invited James Nicolle to explain what we’re doing and why.

The secrets of motivation — top TED talk

What motivates you at work?

It turns out that the usual way we motivate people at work is wrong. Bonuses and other financial incentives often make people perform worse.

That's the message of this entertaining and enlightening TED talk, one of the most popular ever. In it, Dan Pink shares what scientists have learned about motivation.

“The good news is that the scientists who've been studying motivation have given us a new approach,” he says. “It's built much more around intrinsic motivation. Around the desire to do things because they matter, because we like it, they're interesting, or part of something important.”

It’s certainly a message that resonates here at Boost. A big part of the reason we have such a high-performing team is that we all share the same purpose: Supporting others to create positive and lasting impacts.
