De-risk government projects with an Agile assurance plan

Public sector projects with a digital component have to follow the government assurance framework.

Assurance is what you’ll do to make sure your project succeeds. It has to be objective and must allow independent oversight.

Agile projects have assurance built in. The various Agile frameworks were designed as assurance mechanisms. They were developed to de-risk and de-stress complex projects by giving you a timely, objective view of progress, and ways to overcome any barriers.

Not everyone understands Agile though. Having a simple assurance plan will help you show your delivery, governance and oversight teams how Agile’s in-built assurance processes work, and what that means for them.

With that in mind, we’ve put together a guide to creating an Agile assurance plan in line with the government framework, including an example assurance plan based on the government template.

Building a shared, explicit understanding of your assurance approach will speed up delivery, ensuring you’re creating all the value you can for the people of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Help us make developers happy

Do you know a developer who’s wondering how much better their job could be? We’d love it if you let them know about the new jobs at Boost.

tinypulse-happiest-award-200Because the Boost team enjoys working together, we do great work. That’s why our clients love partnering with us and why we have more work than we can handle. We need to grow the team and we’re looking for developers who want to join the happiest software company around.

Because we’re all about working well together, we don’t do your standard job interview. Instead we have Test-drive Boost collaborative hiring events. These give candidates the chance to meet the Boost team and to show off their own all-important teamwork skills.

The details:

Role: Software developers/engineers
Date: Thursday 26 May
Time: 6.00pm – 8:15pm
Place: Your place via Zoom

Here’s what people had to say about our last test-drive event:

“The most impressive interview experience I've ever had.”
“Exceptional…I felt very welcome, included and I thoroughly enjoyed the event.”
“Well done on pulling it all off so smoothly virtually!”
“Surprisingly wonderful.”

Bringing more te reo into your working day

Last year we put together a kete of resources and tips to help teams bring more te reo Māori into their mahi.

Since then we’ve had another resource recommended to us: Keri Opai’s book Tikanga is an easy-to-read guide to te ao Māori, so we’ve added it to our keteparaha (toolkit).
